About Our Campaign

Our children, schools and community will be stronger when every student, teacher, and administrator chooses to eat lunch at school. That's why we're launching the first Support School Meals campaign of its kind in Wake County in September. Join us as we celebrate building community through food during our September campaign by eating out this September.

Visit any of our partner restaurants September 1st through 30th

The Support School Meals campaign will officially run September 1 - 30, helping us enable every child and teacher to choose to eat lunch and breakfast at school. More than 50 Wake County restaurants are participating in the Support School Meals campaign by offering a $5 donation opportunity throughout the month of September, with 100% of the proceeds raised going to support this goal.

WHY SUPPORT SCHOOL MEALS?

Increased participation in public school meal programs leads to increased resources, allowing school nutrition services to have a broader impact on the health of our children. Potential outcomes may include universal free breakfast, more innovative meal programs, and engagement opportunities for kids through food.

Support School Meals

Support School Meals

"We're encouraging Wake County residents to eat out in September, to experience amazing food and help us raise $300,000 for our Support School Meals campaign. These funds will help us work with Child Nutrition Services to enhance the school nutrition program and increase participation rates for school meals across the school age population. We envision a school lunchroom that is inclusive, equitable and encouraging for all students, teachers, and staff."

STEVE MANGANO

Founder, NCPCN

"The chefs and restaurant community in Wake County are excited to participate in the Support School Meals campaign. We believe in the power of a meal and want everyone, especially students, to experience the benefits of healthier eating and building community through food. This is a win-win for our community, our restaurants, and especially our students and schools. We invite everyone to join us in September to experience great local food and Support School Meals."
